ALSTAR EMS operates wheelchair van transportation services to patients of UPMC Chautauqua and the immediate Jamestown area. Wheelchair van transportation is ideal for those patients that do not meet insurance criteria for an ambulance transport, but also do not have the ability to walk more than a step or two. Many of these transports are for patients who have dialysis treatments, doctor’s appointments or perhaps they are being discharged from the hospital and need transportation to their home.
