ALSTAR EMS Visits YMCA Heritage House Child Care Center

July 14th, 2015
In efforts to celebrate local community heroes in Jamestown New York, the YMCA Heritage House Child Care Center invited ALSTAR EMS to speak with several kids about being an EMT or a paramedic. Phil Wilson, Clinical Operations Manager and Paramedic for ALSTAR EMS visited the class of about 15 kids and talked with them about different tools an EMT may use on an every day medical call. Each child was enthused at the chance to hear their own heartbeat on a stethoscope and they also had the opportunity to get in and explore an ambulance. Phil also read the kids a story about different medical vehicles that may be used when transporting a patient. The children had a great time learning about what an EMT does and even more importantly, that people like Phil are available to help them when they need medical attention.
